T|I think when you say something like I stopped believing in the doctrines, what you're looking at is a spectacular theological failure that is on us. I am taking it on as my guilt and shame and I am begging for your forgiveness. We've overlooked our ability and really our responsibility to give an account of the hope that is within us. That's what theology should be doing and if people are not believing, it is because we have offered nothing hopeful. So as much as we like to think about the mechanics of religiosity as the problem or the flashiness of our websites, right, that we need to be a little more cool and then they'll all come back, I think what we need to do instead is think about how we've failed to take into account the hope that is within us, how we fail to share that with the world in a way that makes it hopeful...en_US
