    Remark:
This is one of the larger-formatted items in the collection. It is a softbound, unpaginated, 50-page booklet, 10 ½" x 14 ¼". As the T of C at the end shows, there are here 30 fables, each apparently completely prepared by one student. I am particularly happy to include it in the collection because it is the sort of ephemeral object that may otherwise not have found its way into the future. Each fable includes a title, block-letter prose text, and linoleum cut illustration. Some texts are in Latin, Greek, or French. The cover has simply "Fabeln" and four animal figures: ant, eagle, steer, and dog. Reading is a special experience with these texts. Words are sometimes broken into parts by line ends, and punctuation can be sparse and spacing of letters arbitrary. Some quotations are not marked with quotation marks. A prize goes to OF for its illustration and bold, well executed text.
