BACKGROUNDUniversities across the world are seeking to make the most of the possibilities through global partnerships. Building global networks and extending Creighton's presence on the global stage are the essence of the vision of the Creighton Global Initiative. For the past 10 years, the China Honors Immersion Program (CHIP), which is aimed to develop professional students with global perspective and culture competency, has been developed and enriched. Creighton occupational therapy (OT), physical therapy (PT) and nursing students travel to China to work directly with patients and attend scholarly activities including seminars and workshops offered by Creighton faculty and students. Initiated for doctorate of OT students, CHIP has now expanded to doctorate of PT as well as nursing students to provide unique learning and practicing opportunities for participating students to become practitioners with international visions and leadership.
