    Abstract
Simleggings are a realistic, hands-on, effective teaching tool to represent pitting edema that can be used on mannequins, standardized patients, or modeled in the classroom by instructors or students. Simleggings are designed to zip over the ankles and lower legs and have a slight sheen and exhibit the characteristic "pitting" when pressure is applied to the legging. Additionally if you want to simulate phlebitis you may use reusable gel hand warmers or disposable "Hot Shots" placed between the cover and the foam to create hot spots. Caution—the warmers should only be warm, not actually hot.

NOTE: Library has two leg covers with extension inserts and socks. MD166
