A curious melange. The text appears to be identical with that in Cassell's Aesop's Fables (1893/1893?) illustrated by Griset and in Hurst's The Book of Fables (1899?), also illustrated by Griset. The author, unacknowledged here, is J.B. Rundell. With the latter book this one shares a division point (here 142), after which come Later Fables. The eighty illustrations are by Billinghurst, unacknowledged. T of C.en_US
