Fables from Old French: Aesop's Beasts and Bumpkins.

Abstract

Here is a second extra paperback copy of the hardbound version. Not much help here for what I am after. Most helpful is the Needler introduction, with some good comments on the fables and morals. Also a good bibliography and comments on the character of fable literature. Finally a history of older and recent editions of the fables. The illustrations are taken from Les Subtiles Fables D' Esope (1484), with several touched up.
