    Abstract
Prospective teachers in the education department are taught the foundations of assessment, and how they can be implemented in the classroom. This poster session will focus on how a student who was completing her student teaching implemented formative assessment in her fourth grade classroom in the areas of science, social studies and math. This information was used to group students according to their academic, learning style and behavioral profiles. Based on formative assessment data, lessons were planned and conducted for each group. Summative assessment was evaluated to determine the effectiveness of the strategies in producing gains in social studies, science and math. The student teacher evaluated her own effectivness by determining the progress of her students in learning and behavior.
